3 Things You Can Do for Optimal Healing After a Breast Implant
Posted on: 12 February 2019
If you are planning on having breast implant surgery, make sure you save and plan not only for the surgery but also for the recovery period after your surgery. Just because breast implantation surgery is a cosmetic surgery doesn't mean that it lacks a recovery process. It is still a serious surgery which requires a recovery period.
#1 Make Sure You Have Extra Help
First, you need to make sure that you have the extra help you will need to get around. You are going to be sore and tired for at least a couple days and possibly for a week. You are also not going to be able to lift anything heavy for one to two months. With these limitation in place, you are going to need help.
You shouldn't expect to come home, do chores, make dinner, and put the kids to bed. You should come home, rest, eat a little, and rest some more. Make sure that you bring in extra help to take care of your kids or pets. Even if you only must take care of yourself, it can be helpful to have someone around to help prepare your meals and help you take care of yourself as you recover.
#2 Make Sure You Can Rest
Second, make sure that you have your environment set up so that you can relax. You are going to want to nap and sleep more than normal; make sure that you have blinds or curtains in place to make your bedroom dark so you can rest. Make sure that you have lots of pillows so you can situate yourself comfortably and sleep.
When you are not sleeping, you should be resting. Get some books, magazines, find some podcasts, and have what you need nearby so you can relax and entertain yourself while not putting out that much energy.
#3 Make Sure You Have the Right Food on Hand
Third, you may be a little nauseous or not have a very big appetite right after your surgery. Have some light food that you can easily eat in your home. For example, some club crackers and some chicken noodle soup are good options. More importantly, make sure that you have lots of water and hydration options on hand; you don't want to become dehydrated while you are recovering from your surgery. Always have a water bottle or drink on hand as you recover from your surgery.
Make sure that you plan on resting and taking care of yourself after your breast implant surgery. Take the pressure off yourself and set up a relaxing environment for yourself so that your body can get some rest and heal as you need to.
